Pros: Ankle Support, Great Traction, Secure Fit, Lightweight

Cons: Seam in tongue, Uncomfortable, Wears Out Quickly, Meager tongue padding

Describe Yourself: Avid Adventurer, Professional/Guide

Out of the box these boots were a winner. Very comfortable, light, nice rocker, support... On the trail different story. They were initially quite comfortable but after about 6 miles of hiking (full camelback so nothing too crazy) the seam in the tongue started to really bother the tendons/ligaments on top of my ankle. The next days hike I tried a slightly thicker sock but had the same issue and developed some nasty blisters on my heels. After both hikes (~30miles) the soft rubber was showing some wear, these are light hikers for sure and will break down and wear out quickly if used with moderate loads and rough terrain.

These may work for a short hike but the tongue design is horrible and caused me quite a bit of irritation. Fix this issue and they would be amazing. Thank goodness for the REI return policy.
